Welcome Pride Month
On June 29, 2024, we invite everyone to experience diversity and celebrate equality with Discover Phuket Pride 2024, welcoming Pride Month in grand style. The event will take place in the Old Town area of Phuket between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. We open this space to the LGBTQ+ community to express pride in identity and rights. The highlight of the event is the Pride Parade featuring a vibrant rainbow flag procession through the heart of Old Town Phuket, showcasing the charm and identity of equality and celebrating the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.
When is the Pride Month Event in Phuket?
On May 6, 2567, Mr. Saroj Angkanapilas, Mayor of Phuket City, announced that the Phuket City Municipality, in collaboration with government agencies, social networks, and the private sectors, is preparing for the "Discover Phuket Pride 2024 at Phuket Old Town" event under the Pride Parade project for the year 2024, which will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024. The aim is to make Phuket City a livable city for everyone and to promote tourism, driving the economy in the urban area.
Phuket Pride Month Activities
In addition to this, there are other activities organized by various networks including government, private, and civil sectors, such as concerts by artists and campaigns to raise awareness about sexually transmitted diseases prevention. This event also promotes diverse tourism and continuous economic growth in the urban area.
Phuket is an internationally renowned tourist destination that is open-minded about rights and embraces sexual diversity, which is crucial in a world society filled with diversity. Fostering an understanding of coexistence among people of diverse genders and promoting equal social rights contributes to the promotion of human rights, leading to peaceful coexistence in society.
The Pride Parade is held annually in June, the month of pride for the LGBTQ+ community, and as a reminder of the Stonewall riots in June 1969.
The organization of Discover Phuket Pride 2024 at Phuket Old Town provides a space for the LGBTQ+ community to express pride in their identity, foster social understanding, and stimulate tourism and the economy of Phuket Province throughout the year.
